It’s obvious: here, first-class instrumentalists are at work, each individual a master, yet what a team they make! Spirited, expressive, transparent – this is music which opens itself up easily to the listener yet allows for the emergence of ever more layers of interaction, imagination and creative power.
Catchy melodies, intense soloing.
And then, the voice:
bright while warm, clear, sometimes husky, flexible, delicate yet surprisingly powerful, with a splendid array of timbres and expressive nuances. Anne Hartkamp creates moments of gentleness, of the most touching magic, while at the same time shining as a brilliant improviser. She enchants and ensnares, coming up with the most angular melodies just like that, with or without words telling of intimacy and joie de vivre, impishness and profundity, calmness and fervour.

Live on stage, this band is a feast for the audience, of course due to Anne Hartkamp’s bubbly stage presence – but also to her musicians who utterly love playing their music. This love is contagious: the audience emerges from the concert „enraptured“, „fascinated“ and „transported“ by their own description.

The repertoire consists mostly of originals by the band leader, complemented by selected and smartly arranged jazz standards.
